Before the production team could begin filming, there were calls and appointments to be made. The production team and research team banded together to compile a list of potential interviewees.
Among the 10 possible schools which were contacted, only one school were able to help with our project, Sir Tom Finney High School. Mr Shaun Jukes, head teacher of Sir Tom Finney was kind enough to allow the production team to conduct an interview with him. Unfortunately, we were rejected by the other schools which gave us a major setback of two weeks. One week was lost because it was half term and we off track for the second week because we were waiting for a reply from each school.
We are still in talks with potential interviews from the University of Central Lancashire, Priory Sports and Technology College and Preston College to hopefully have a broader range of ideas for the project.
The most difficult thing we encountered was attempting to gain permission to film within school. We were told that it would be too much hassle to film as the teachers would need to contact parents to allow their children to be filmed for the organisation’s project.
Despite these setbacks, we are well on our way to catching up on the missed weeks.
Keep a lookout for the next blog!
